About Us

a

Perfectly woven silver Trichinopoly and Foxtail Chain Work jewelry, semi-precious beaded gemstone jewelry, wire wrapped and bezel set cabochon pendants, bracelets and earrings. Every piece entirely handmade. Designs to catch the eye of the most discerning collector.

Kate Tinnan hand weaves Argentium Sterling and Fine silver bracelets, rope necklaces and pendants, mixing and wire wrapping semi-precious gemstones, cabochons, and lampwork beads into unique jewelry, often using the traditional technique of Trichinopoly Chain Work, which is also widely known as Viking Knit. Her Foxtail chain bracelets and necklaces are made from Fine silver and come in 4 sizes, either made to length or adjustable.

Originally a textile weaving technique in several ancient cultures, Trichinopoly Chain Work (and Viking Knit) uses Fine silver or gold wire to make beautiful metal rope jewelry that is supple, soft and very pleasing to the eye. It is quite rare to find the kind of perfect weaving Kate Tinnan insists on for every piece of her Trichinopoly Chain.

Kate employs a variety of intricate wire weaving, chain-making, and stone setting techniques in her designs, creating an amalgam of textures and shapes in the process that enhance their depth and complexity.

WovenStones jewelry is entirely handmade by Kate Tinnan. All of her wire sculpted forms, and many of her necklace and bracelet clasps are also hand crafted in her studio. All WovenStones designs are original designs by Kate Tinnan.
